Stepping into Gino’s Pizza Cafe feels like settling into a well-loved neighborhood haven where familiar faces and warm greetings set the tone before the savory aromas reach the table. Nestled along Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia, this spot pulses with the comfortable rhythm of a local gathering place where time moves just a bit slower—inviting you to pause, savor, and share a meal that’s both hearty and heartfelt.

The atmosphere at Gino’s is unpretentious, a kind of cozy bustle that comes with staff who remember your name and stories, and patrons who return as if visiting old friends. It’s that rare blend of casual ease and attentive service that transforms a simple dinner into something more personal—a shared moment in a familiar, inviting setting.

Here, the food feels like an extension of that spirit—unrushed and generous. The menu nods lovingly to classic Italian and Philly neighborhood flavors, offering options that satisfy a craving for crispy, comforting pizza, or a plate of pasta that carries the warmth of home cooking. From the crunch of well-seasoned fries to the layered taste of a pepperoni-studded pizza cheesesteak, each bite connects to the joyful simplicity of gathering around a table with people you care about.

Gino’s also quietly celebrates the everyday milestones—the family birthdays marked with a cupcake, the memorable dinners that become stories retold, and the familiar comfort of dishes prepared just right after a busy day. Would like to start out saying service was great. We had a large order and everything came out perfectly. I had fries and a pepperoni pizza steak. Steak was full of meat but there wasn't very much pepperoni on it. Good size order of fries which were nice and crispy.

This place doesn't need a review. In fact I'm dissapointed at myself for not finding Gino's sooner. If you're from the NE, then you already know that's there's a pizza shop on every corner for every palate and at every price point. We were in the mood for pizza one week and decided to give Gino's a try. A little time has past since we had pizza and I was watching food reviews all night so now it was 9pm and I was really craving a slice. I made a call and 15 minutes later my pie was ready for pickup. First impressions...beautiful looking pie. I love the blisters on the crust and cheese. I ordered both mushrooms and sausage and there are ample toppings on the pie. Nice quality cheese with good amount of grease and plenty of pull with a little chew..which is how I like it. The sauce really shines, saucy with tomato flavor and finishes slightly sweet. The dough is slightly sweet with some nice air pockets. Not too doughy but with just the right amount of weight to hold a slice together. Service was fast and friendly and accurate. It's been 2 weeks and I've had pizza from these guys 4 times...(we usually only have pizza once a month at the most) already having also tried their wings and onion rings Pie with 2 toppings $15. Pro tip: Ask for thin crust and pepperoni. If you found this review helpful, then please click on the "thumbs up" icon below so that I can continue to provide useful reviews like this one.

Have visited Gino’s many times over the years ,tonight I ordered the Veal Chop with tomatoes broccoli rabe covered in melted provolone. Have to say it was the best meal I’ve ever ordered from Gino’s great job to the crew in the back of the house. And our waitress A+

When people talk about a small family style eatery, Gino's is what they are looking for. It is the kind of place where the staff remembers you and jokes with you! My uncle brought me here a few months back, now I make at least one visit every time we come to Philly. (Tonight was our 2nd visit this week!) The menu has nice variety of classic dishes, pizza and specials. I have not had a bad meal yet. This time was the sword fish with risotto. Perfectly grilled fish with shrimp and asparagus risotto. Every bite was full of flavor. My husband devoured the Pescatore! We also love their carafes of house wine! Don't forget dessert! The Lemoncello marscopone cake caps a great meal. I rarely post food photos, but Ginos deserves that!

Today I ordered The Flounder FRANCESE. The flounder was oh so good, and it melted in my mouth. I had enough for leftovers for diner, and again the flounder just melted in my mouth. There were three big pieces of fish, strings, and potatoes. My only complaint was there could have been more potatoes. The price I paid was awesome, and for the meals was great price for the money. I will definitely order this flounder again. I highly recommend it Thank you.

Gino's is our favorite place to order from and eat in. By far the best penne vodka with grilled chicken we have ever had. We try it everywhere, and nowhere compares to Ginos! Consistent, Affordable, Delicious!
